The Named Driver discount also saves you money; if a named driver on a Tesco policy is claim-free, they will receive a discount when they take out their own policy. Plus, any driver who has improved their driving skills by successfully completing a Pass Plus course may be entitled to a discount; if the driver is claim-free with no convictions, Tesco will grant them a 40 percent discount. And every Tesco car insurance customer will receive discounts at Nationwide Autocentres.

Tesco Value Car Insurance

To keep insurance premiums low, Value Car Insurance is only offered online. Another measure helping to lower premiums is the higher excess; with this policy, excesses start at £475. Tesco covers you and your car for all car accidents, whether the accident was your fault or not. In addition, Tesco also covers damage to a third party’s property for up to £20m. If thieves steal your personal possessions from your locked car, you can claim the replacement cost. This policy also protects your car against fire and theft; you forfeit your cover, however, if you leave your keys in the car. If your car ever needs repairs, Tesco will guarantee all parts and repairs for up to one year.

Motor Legal Protection is offered to all of Tesco’s customers as an optional extra. This policy add-on covers up to £50,000 of your legal costs following an accident, provided that the accident was not your fault. You can use this cash to cover any costs that you are not insured for, like your policy excesses and your car hire costs.

Tesco Car Insurance

When you purchase your car insurance policy online, you will receive a discount of 15 percent; this only applies to new customers in the first year of their policy. With this upgraded cover, you will receive all of the same benefits as the Value Car Insurance policy. In addition, Tesco protects all of your car’s stereo equipment and electronic navigation equipment against theft. Tesco also covers any windshield damage. If your car needs to spend days in the shop for extensive repairs, you can claim the cost of your temporary replacement car. Tesco guarantees all parts and repairs for up to three years. Any damage caused to a third party’s property is also covered for up to £20m.

As with the Value Car Insurance policy, you can choose optional extras to add to your Tesco Car Insurance policy. With Guaranteed Replacement Car cover, you simply notify Tesco representatives of your claim and they will send you a replacement car within three hours. You can use the replacement car for up to 14 days; if your own car is still not repaired by then, you can keep the replacement car at a discounted rate. Motor Legal Protection covers up to £50,000 of your legal costs following an accident that was not your fault. You can use this extra cash to help recover the cost of excesses and car hires, as well as claim compensation. Breakdown Assistance is also offered as an optional extra.

Additions: Tesco Car Warranty Plan

Tesco customers can purchase a Car Warranty Plan for as little as £99 per year. This cover protects against the cost of unexpected electrical, mechanical and electronic failures in a car. You will not have to endure a waiting period before making a claim, and since Tesco settles the claim directly with the repairer, you will have no paperwork to fill out. Tesco imposes no limits on the number of claims you can make in a year. Customers can choose from three levels of cover.

To purchase Value cover, your vehicle must be less than 10 years old; its mileage must not be higher than 100,000 kilometres. With this policy, parts cover includes most of your car’s major components. You can claim any parts and labour charges, but you will have to pay an excess of £50. In addition, Tesco covers your car within Europe for up to 30 days. Any claim you make can be no higher than £1,500.

A car insured under a Standard policy must be less than eight years old, and its mileage must not be any higher than 80,000 kilometres. You can claim up to £3,000 per incident, and you will not have to pay an excess. Included in this policy is a comprehensive parts cover, as well as a European cover for up to 60 days. If your car does break down, you can claim the cost of your car hire for up to three days. You can also claim any parts and labour charges. In addition, some of your car’s mechanical parts are protected against wear and tear.

To purchase the Finest cover, your vehicle must not be older than six years. Your car’s mileage must also be under 60,000 kilometres. In addition to all of the above coverage, you will receive a fully comprehensive parts cover. You can enjoy cover in Europe for up to 90 days. If your car is in the shop for repairs, you can claim the cost of your car hire for up to seven days. Tesco will also cover your hotel expenses and rail travel if you need to travel to retrieve your car after a breakdown. This cover has the highest claim limit - the amount of your vehicle’s purchase price. You will not have to pay an excess with this policy.
